biography
Edward, from Pontiac, IL, served in the Navy from 1965 to 1987.
"I served in the Vietnam War aboard the carrier USS America while attached to VF-102 "Diamondbacks". I was then transferred to NATTC Memphis for Instructor Duty, where I taught AFUN-P and MECH-FUN schools. Then I was transferred to VF-103 "Sluggers" located at NAS Oceana, VA and deployed twice with them aboard the USS Independence. I then returned to NATTC Memphis as an instructor at AME "A" school. I then returned to NAS Oceana, VA, assigned to VF-143 "Pukin' Dogs" and deployed on the USS Saratoga and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower for two Mediterranean cruises. I then returned to NAS Oceana, VA to NAMTG 1007 as leading instructor for the F-14 Safety Environmental/Egress School. On May 29th, 1987, I retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer.
