cpl joshua e. ward
biography
Ward, from Pontiac, IL, served with the 8th Illinois on the Mexican Border. He later served with Company C, 370th Infantry Regiment in World War I. The 370th, along with the 369th, 371st, and 372nd served with the French forces. The 370th was nicknames "the Black Devils" by the Prussian forces they faced. The 370th suffered 366 casualties, including 95 killed in action.
