CPT james murphy

biography

James, from Odell, IL, entered the Army as an enlisted man and went through Officer Candidate School in 1943 and served as Company Commander of Company B, 46th Engineer Construction Company in the Pacific and participated in the liberation of the Philippine Islands. James had two brothers that also served in World War II, with one having also served in the Pacific and the other in Europe. All of them came home alive at the end of the war.
