Jim, from Pontiac, IL, was a Combat Engineer assigned to A Company, 4th Engineer Battalion at Ft. Carson, CO. Jim served in the Army from 1973 to 1976. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he earned a bachelor's degree in Geology from Illinois State University.
