T/3 Vernon Harms

biography

Vernon, from Benson and Pontiac, IL, served as a Medical Clerk Typist with the 58th Evacuation Hospital assigned to the 23rd Division in the Philippines. Vernon was awarded a commendation letter (later changed to the Army Commendation Ribbon/Medal) for successfully evacuating patients during a 3 week period in April of 1945 in Cebu, Philippines.
